Twinnovation
TWINNOVATION is a 2‑year project funded by the INTERREG Estonia‑Latvia programme, running from November 2023 to October 2025. The project is led by the Baltic Innovation Agency (BIA) and involves the Estonian and Latvian Chambers of Commerce and Industry plus 10 SMEs from both countries. Its goal is to help small and medium‑sized companies confidently move through the digital and green transition.
The main challenge is that many SMEs find it difficult to understand what digitalisation and going green mean for their business and how to make these changes work. TWINNOVATION supports companies by guiding them from planning to piloting solutions in products, services, processes or business models. It encourages firms in Estonia and Latvia to learn from each other and work together.
The aim is to bridge theory and practice by helping 10 SMEs develop and implement a twin transition action plan within 1–3 years and test it through a pilot project. Key activities include:
- Group training, workshops, study visits and peer learning
- Hands‑on support to create plans tailored to each SME
- Launching 10 pilot actions with innovative solutions in digital tools, green processes or new services
TWINNOVATION project strengthens competitiveness of participating SMEs and inspires others to follow. It boosts cross‑border business links, builds skills in digital and green innovation and helps create new jobs. The project shows how regional cooperation can lead to practical and sustainable change among small businesses in Estonia and Latvia.
