How BIA 2.0 came to life?
It all started on a sauna boat
BIA’s founder, Rene, invited the team to celebrate another successful year out on the water. It was a beautiful evening filled with food, views and good sauna. Naturally, when you put a bunch of curious, ambitious and creative people together, the conversations often drift into dreaming. At the time, we dreamed of remote work in sunshine and by the sea. So we packed our bags and flew to Turkey. However, we weren’t just going to have fun; we had a mission to return with ideas on how to make BIA a better work environment. Challenge accepted.
In Turkey, we started to rethink everything: BIA’s structure, internal processes and roles. Yet, very quickly we came to a realisation, that this wouldn’t be enough – you can’t just upgrade your systems and expect a transformation. We needed to rehink BIA in a deeper level: revisiting our purpose, goals and vision. Furthermore, it became clear that although changes in our services and internal structure are at the top of the priority list, how we present ourselves is a crucial part of voicing our message and making sure our essence reaches the target group. And so it began – building BIA 2.0.
We started by asking ourselves: if BIA were a person, who would it be? The answer was clear – BIA would be a Creator. Full of ideas and driven by innovation, yet deeply human, collaborative and grounded. That’s the feeling we wanted to communicate, not just inside our team, but also to our clients and partners. We’re not here to just deliver and leave. We’re here to stand beside you as a true partner – the kind you grow and build with. Over the past year, we have been building up the new processes and structures piece by piece to deliver the best results we possibly can.
What does the BIA 2.0 really mean for our existing and future partners?
It means, that while our essence stays the same, we’re now better equipped to tackle new challenges and provide our partners & clients high quality services. Our vision is to be the leading innovation partner, known for smart, tailored solutions that drive meaningful progress and create value both locally and globally. Our mission is to support and accelerate the development of innovative ideas and bring a positive impact to society. We believe that innovation happens when the right people, ideas and funding come together, hence we will continue to seek out meaningful partnerships and work with clients who share our ambition and values.
BIA 2.0 also means a new visual identity and brand. So, we teamed up with the creative agency DaDa to ensure that our refreshed brand would be aligned both visually and contextually with the BIA team and our values. With our updated visual identity, we are not just changing how BIA looks. We are showing more clearly who we are and what we believe in. The new brand reflects our journey, our progress and our focus on innovation and working together. It connects our past with our future and helps us share our message in a clearer and stronger way.
The centre of our new visual identity is a gear with one highlighted segment. It is inspired by our old wheel symbol and shows BIA as a key link. Just like a gear needs the right part to move, BIA connects people, ideas and money to create progress. The shape can take different meanings – it can be seen as a gear of teamwork, a network hub, a compass or a spark of innovation. Our new colours show that we stand for innovation, professionalism and working together. Dark blue gives balance and shows trust. Bright blue stands for energy and ambition. Light blue means openness and clear thinking.
BIA 2.0 is more than a new look – it’s a mindset. It grew from a shared vision of doing things better, working smarter and creating real impact together with our partners. The sauna boat may have sparked the idea, but the journey since has been about aligning who we are with how we work and how we show up in the world. With BIA 2.0, we carry forward our essence as creators and collaborators, while being better equipped for the challenges and opportunities ahead. We’re excited to continue building meaningful partnerships, driving innovation and shaping progress – together.
