EIT Manufacturing GreenMA project

Funded by the EIT Manufacturing community, the Green Manufacturing Accelerator (GreenMA) project is implemented from January to December 2022 by an international consortium – the University of Tartu and the Baltic Innovation Agency from Estonia, Buildit from Latvia, Aerospace Valley from France, as well as INESC TEC (Institute for Systems and Computer Engineering, Technology and Science) and INEGI (Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering) from Portugal.

The aim of the GreenMA project is to carry out two rounds of acceleration for green manufacturing startups, addressing the key challenges for early-stage entrepreneurs related to know-how, financing and contacts with the EIT and the wider manufacturing ecosystem. The GreenMA project focuses on novel materials and resources, manufacturing processes and business model innovation.

The project offers a 3-month acceleration program to the participating startups, consisting of a bootcamp, monthly development sprints and an international demo day. The program also includes:

  • Online workshops and mentoring sessions on green product development, design thinking, sales and marketing, fundraising and other relevant topics.
  • Pitching training and international demo day at sTARTUp Day business festival in Tartu, Estonia, to showcase startups to investors and the startup community.
  • A large pool of international mentors from Estonia, Latvia, France and Portugal. Participating startups will be introduced to a twinning partner for potential collaboration projects or client-sales.
  • The best performing teams will have a chance for initial investment opportunities from Buildit (up to 50, 000 EUR) and EIT Manufacturing (up to 300,000 EUR) with potential for follow-on investments in later rounds.

The first call for applications ended in April 2022 with another call expected in the second half of 2022.
